Dr. Kathleen Prendergast, DNP, APN-C
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Kathleen Prendergast is a nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Association in adult psychiatry/mental health. She graduated cum laude from Jersey City State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Dr. Prendergast then went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Rutgers University with the specialty of Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health. She was also certified by NEI as a Master Psychopharmacologist and received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Seton Hall University.
Dr. Prendergast worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse in a variety of areas including psychiatry and substance abuse. As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Prendergast has treated individuals and their families in outpatient settings dealing with many conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit disorder and alcohol and substance abuse. Additionally, Dr. Prendergast has served on the graduate faculty of Rutgers University. Dr. Prendergast has been a Clinical Expert on the Scholarly Review Committee for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She is also the former President of the Society of Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses.
Chris Tomkins, LPC, NCC, ACS, CCS

Chris Tomkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience treating a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression and addictive disorders. He has over fifteen years of experience working in a number of mental health, addictions and correctional treatment programs. He is a National Credentialed Counselor and certified to provide clinical supervision to mental health and addictions counselors. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University. He is eligible to practice in Florida as well as New Jersey.
Matthew Navitski, MA
Matthew Navitski is the Intake Counselor for Caldwell Mental Health Center. Mr. Navitski graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Master’s degree in Social and Community Psychology. He has had experience in individual and group counseling at multiple settings including Wayne Counseling Center and Addiction Recovery Systems. He was a Recovery Support Specialist and Admissions Counselor at Recovery Centers of America. He was also a Liaison Screener at Acenda Integrated Health and is a New Jersey Certified Emergency Psychiatric Screener.
Melissa Navitski
Melissa Navitski is a psychiatric assistant and office manager for Caldwell Mental Health Treatment Center. She assists with patient inquiries and is a liason with the laboratories, pharmacies and insurance providers.
